Miranda is a Herefordshire-based artist interested in the landscapes and nature of the British countryside, and in particular hill ranges. She creates original contemporary linocut prints, drypoint etchings, original paintings and mixed-media drawings.

A self-taught paper marbler of 40 odd years, Sarah has researched, explored and crafted both Turkish marbling and now the ancient art of Japanese marbling. Working with ink, water and air, she creates images that are captured on paper or washi.

Usually Sarah works with sumi (black ink) though sometimes with colour too to create framed monoprints and scrolls. She works from her home studio in Kington and also on rivers and the sea.

The wild light in the Black Mountains (Y Mynydd Du) – where Helen lives and works – impacts her creativity in an inescapable way. Every layer of paint and each bold brushstroke or detailed etching mark invites viewers to reconnect with how they feel, fully immersed in nature.

My main works are in watercolours and acrylics, with cyanotypes being a relatively new pursuit.

It’s been fascinating to explore the different methods and techniques; how one small tweak can take a piece from a basic exposure to something truly special.

My formative experience of printmaking came from learning screen-printing at school. At degree level I worked with wood both sculpturally and woodcut printing. The way image and space transform through the relief printing process is exciting. The ‘noise’ of incidental marks made and the layering of colour makes for dynamic surfaces and often surprising outcomes.

I studied Fine Arts and Graphics at Stockport college. Then later completed a four year sculpture training in South Germany.

Living in the Welsh Marches, my focus is on painting and printmaking. I mostly make collagraphs and monoprints. I enjoy the accidental marks and textures it is possible to create and often incorporate elements of chien collé. I work from life, my imagination and memory.
